these beecastle beehive worked out great for what I needed them for. Great purchase. The customer service was awesome as well because one of the pieces was broken in half due to shipping I suppose, but the lady was awesome and she said my new piece would be mailed out to me within 5-7 business days and it was and it came wrapped very well to prevent any damage while shipping.

I have 4 beeyards and have started buying the BeeCastle hive kits with 2 deeps for brood and 1 medium for my honey super. I bought 12 hive kits and I will install them this season. They are solidly built and I love the dovetail joints on the hive boxes. They assemble very tight. I use my own 1-5/8" deck screws. I use a staple and nail gun to assemble the frames. They have a beeswax coating on everything but the frames. Not sure how that works yet. So I didn't have to paint them. The packing boxes usually come slightly damaged but I only had 1 where the 2 ends on a medium box were damaged. However, I always pay the added insurance through BeeCastle, just a couple of dollars, and they sent me an ftentire medium box in 3 days. They are much cheaper and better designed than Mann Lake or Dadant. You can always buy them unwaxed so you can paint. I'm anxious to put them out. The queen excluders are plastic but I prefer the metal ones. The bottom board, entrance reducer, inner cover, and outer cover all look good and solidly built. I highly recommend them.

Went together very easy, all joints are accurately cut, just added glue. All wood was solid, no cracks. I got some boxes from Bee Castle two years ago and they are still square, and the bees seem to like them.
