Went together very easy, all joints are accurately cut, just added glue. All wood was solid, no cracks. I got some boxes from Bee Castle two years ago and they are still square, and the bees seem to like them.

I typically buy from major bee supply companies but saw a couple of new beekeepers with Beecastle hives. I liked the quality and the looks and especially the price. Much cheaper than the big boys charge. I bought one from Amazon and two directly from Beecastle. All 3 had the same problem of poor packaging and all boxes were damaged a little. So far just 1 entrance reducer was broken. No big deal, I will glue it. But all had a corner or edge dinged a little. They are very heavy and Fedex is probably doing the best they can. Better reinforced boxes would help with all the loose parts. The one thing I am waiting to see is how the wax coating holds up. Wort case is I will have to sand and paint.
But yes, I plan on buying more from Beecastle. I run 2 deeps for brood and a minimum of 1 medium for honey. The other new beekeepers ordered 1 deep an 1 medium. Then had to come up with a 2nd deep. Much cheaper to order 2 deeps and 1 medium together.

Love the new Bee castle hive only thing I wish you guys would’ve done is when Emailed about a part missing you responded pretty quickly, but I’ve yet seen the replacement part yet has been a while now so communication between you folks and customers I wouldn’t rate it too high. At least that’s my experience maybe that’s not true with everybody. I can only talk about what I’ve gone through with your company.

Bought 3 of these to assemble. Very good quality, but had a couple of splits that were easily glued. Having 3 to do, I can say that for me, it was easier to turn the box upside down and open them so I started assembling the deeps first, then the supers, then frames. That gave me a good place to put the frames as I finished them.
Took maybe 90 minutes to assemble each one as well as glue all the joints.
The wax was awesome on these! Very nice looking when completed, and when I took the hives back to where I was setting them, I had several scout bees investigating the frames. While I have not gotten to pick my purchased bees up yet, squatters were not welcome, so I had to make sure to block all the entrances up. I'm sure I'll need to buy more hives pretty soon after getting my bees, so will likely be ordering more castles

I admit I am new to beekeeping, but I have seen other hives at local stores and other places and they don't compare to BeeCastle. The joints are perfect, the wood is top quality. I am a pretty good woodworker and I don't see how I can possibly make my own hives at the cost they sell these at. I wanted to make my own hives. I enjoy building things, but it just didn't make sense. Maybe if your comparing with other manufactures with crappy joints and #2 or #3 lumber, but not with these guys. I'm curious how the wax coating vs painting will hold up over time... will see on that.

I haven't been able to put them to use until spring when my Bee Nuc's arrive. But they are built really well and are very sturdy. They are a Great product not to mention the beautiful appearance they have from the heavily coated layer of bee's wax that bring out the beauty of the wood.
